Four New Vinyl Records & A Great Saturday
Good evening.
Saturdays are great. You know you are free today, and you still have one more day till the next week. Even while vacations, weekends are just weekends! ๐
Being a winter Saturday, today was also a great day. I woke up at 10 and saw the sun is shining through my thick black curtains. It was very bright!
I immediately put a disco album on the turntable and started the day dancing, hehe.
Then I went and bought four(!) new albums. Three of them were cheap ones, so I’m good, lol.
So, why was today a great day?
Well, I live alone. And I’m alone in Koblenz altogether. I don’t really know how to make friends with native people, and even if I knew, I’d be too shy to apply them. So, I’m trying to value every small interaction I get.
After purchasing1 the records, I walked around the city. It is rather small, so you can finish it all in couple of hours. I approached a middle aged couple and offered to take their photo. It was so nice! They smiled and let me take their photo, and it turned out very nice. I commented “a very beautiful photo” and handed the phone over. Everyone was happy.
EXCEPT!! Couple steps ahead, I took a selfie of myself, and they approached and asked if I’d like them to take my photo ๐. I got too embarrassed, but at that moment didn’t think a lot and agreed. Now to me it felt like I did the favor to receive a favor - which wasn’t the case at all! ๐ญI hope they didn’t think like this too.
Anyways, then there was couple more interactions with people. and they were all sweet. There was a girl that was making soap bubbles with a toy gun, and I walked into the middle of it. Wind had carried the bubbles away, so I wasn’t ruining their joy too. She saw me walking into the bubbles and laughed, continued to make more bubbles while laughing ๐.
It is probably very cringe to document all of these, but I like to exaggerate small cute things. The real joy are in those, I guess.
Anyway, about the albums!
I haven’t listened any of them, so will write how I chose them.
Firstly, I love Sade. She has a beautiful voice, and all the songs are catchy. Especially the “Slow Operator”. So, it was a immediate choice.
Voya Con Dios - I’ve been listening the “Nah Neh Nah” for a long time, and was in a break for about maybe. So, got excited. And it was 8 euros, so a nice deal.
East by Hiroshima - Its cover got my attention, and I assumed it is a Japanese jazz. Asked the lady there, and apparently it is not. I sometimes like the crazy Japanese jazz, all the bent notes and stuff. It has its vibe. But she said this is not bad, and it being a cheap one (6 euros) i got it.
Lastly, when I asked her about a Japanese vibe jazz, she recommended the “Rising Son” by Takuya Kuroda. We will see how I like it.
Turns out all the good stuff I love are in “Jazz, Funk, Fusion” section. See, I’m learning my genres too!
Edit:
Oh, I almost forgot about the Vietnamese restaurant part. I ate a good meal that I forgot the name of, but I have a photo of it. Here you go.
In the left bowl there is rice, and the plate is heated with a candle, so the meal itself never gets cold. Loved the presentation.
So, that was a wrap up of my day. Thank you for reading!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have something to talk about the albums or anything else.
Bye! <3
