The Great People of the Internet
Hi there. It is nice to see y’all here.
This will be a quick one as I don’t have much time, and been thinking of writing this for some time now.
I’ve recently found a very kind and cozy place in the Internet (the update). The 500.social. We have been hanging out there for about two months now, and it has been nothing but a great experience so far. And there is a person in that server which I am devoting this post to.
Nowadays, it is quite easy to be mean - plus, without any responsibilities. But some choose to be nice to other people. They go out of their way to respond, take their time to understand people’s feelings, cheer or be sad with them. It really doesn’t take much effort, but it is very surprising that we don’t do this much.
Sometimes I see a toot, someone complaining about their bad day. I used to just scroll past it, but this good person taught me replying to them - aka - the value of sharing feelings.
Here you are a sample case from myself! The other day I was ill and things were going downhill in my relocation journey. But the next day I felt a bit better, and this guy responding to my post on Mastodon, literally, teared me up. I don’t know why it happened, but it was so nice to see the notification. At that time, I understood that there can be times that people are looking for a simple glimpse of empathy, socializing, a small warmth. This is what makes relationships precious.
So, thank you, Brandon :). I really, really do appreciate it. You’ve always been kind to me. Maybe, even without you noticing it. But those small replies did indeed felt nice.
